Python is an interpreted (as opposed to compiled) language created by Guido Van Rossum. Unlike most modern scripting languages, which can trace their heritage to C, Python has a number of unorthodox syntax idiosyncrasies, such as lines of code being terminated by newline characters (most of us are used to semicolons) and discrete blocks of code defined by indentation (most of us are used to putting them in curly braces). Despite these odd-seeming rules, Python is remarkably easy to learn, and flexible enough to accommodate anything between a quick and dirty service script to full blown object oriented projects.
This tutorial will focus on getting started with Python, with all the basics of any scripting language: I/O, loops, control structures. Any remaining time after that will be used for showing you how to do those things most people use a scripting language for: connecting to databases, sending out emails, requesting webpages, and other network operations.
Solomon is a fully certified MySQL DBA and former president of LAMPSIG. He uses Python in building a scalable storage engine for his current company. He spends too much time chasing after the latest geek toys.

About the Presentation:
We all know that Mobile Development is the big talk of the moment, but getting started brings more questions than answers. Questions such as: Where do you start? What platforms do you target? and/or Do you have to learn COCOA, JAVA, HTML5, CSS3 and all those technologies that you may not know much about?
The good news is that you can relax for now, because there is a new and exciting way to do all in simple ways. In this presentation you will learn the following in less than 120 minutes… Oh and actually be productive from day one:
- How to design and build a single application that runs perfectly on: mobile web browsers, iPhone (native app), iPad(native app) and Android(native app).
- How to test your application in IOS Simulator.
- How to test your application in Android Simulator.
- How to transfer your application to an actual iPhone and/or iPad.
- How to transfer your application to an actual Android phone.

TOPIC:
Building powerful web applications in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud
Building the right infrastructure that can scale up or down in a moment's notice can
be a complicated and expensive task, but it's essential in today's business landscape.
This applies to an enterprise trying to cut-costs, a young business unexpectantly
saturated with customer demand, or a start-up looking to launch.
In this talk, Jinesh Varia will discuss how to build a Simple LAMP-based web
application in the AWS cloud and then apply all the attributes and latest features
of the cloud to turn it into an Auto-scalable, highly available, highly scalable, fully-
monitored edge-cached application that is not only easier to develop but also easier
to maintain. The session will be ideal for those who have some familiarly of AWS and
its offerings and are looking to build LAMP based application. The lessons and best
practices that you learn from this session can be applied to any cloud application,
whether it is a Facebook social gaming application or cloud service accessed from a
mobile application, software as a service application.
